school and work have literally swallowed me whole but i found some time today to play with my roommate and film camera. on the other hand, sometimes life is cool when you walk into work and the backstreet boys are blaring throughout the restaurant. yolo?

good company and i decided to take advantage of our three day weekend and make a spontaneous trip to southern california. not only did i get a gnarly sunburn/attempt of a tan, but i also finally got to experience disneyland for the first time ever. calling that place magical is only an understatement. although texas has my whole heart, california sure stole it for the weekend.

andrew bird captivated my heart some years ago when i watched him boss at the violin in a way i've never seen. and he whistles like that lovely bird that wakes you up early in the mornin'. this man knows my soul.

apparently purple shampoo doesn't necessarily maintain already purple hair... rather, it turns it practically blue. good thing blue is my favorite color! on the other hand, my week was nothing short of fabulous. hanging out with jon heder and friends casually at a cabin in sundance and birthing my obsession for the tv series portlandia started my february off right.

now excuse while i waste use my time wisely and watch every episode of portlandia another seven times on this snowy sunday.

i think my number one favorite thing ever is when people say i'm the definition of a "southern belle". day = made immediately. seems like holding doors open for people all day pays off, and the good ol' southern manners mom and dad engraved in me.
