philadelphia {part two}

So my trip to the east coast has come to an end. Yesterday we went up to Intercourse, Pennsylvania (yes, this is a real city. and no, i will not make any crude jokes..maybe) to visit Amish Country. I really enjoyed it, to be honest. First of all, the weather went from 75 degrees the day before, to 50 degrees the next. Know what that means? Fall is finally settling in and is here to stay. AKA scarves and sweaters and layers and hot apple cider. Amish Country is one of the most beautiful places I've visited, by far. All you see are green rolling hills that go on forever with a few crops and clothes lines every now and then. Their transportation options are extremely limited, so majority of the time they ride a horse and buggy to get around town. I loved spending time with my sisters, mom and edible nieces this week. I can't wait to go back home to Texas for Christmas so my whole family can be together again. Now, time for me to get home and light every single candle I own that smells like fall/christmas and drink apple cider for the rest of my life. Oh, and have I mentioned William has been gone for almost an entire month now? Only 23 more to go :)

can't touch this

head wreath - made at home, parachute pants - freepeople, lace shirt - mom

Y'all can just call me MC Hammer: woodland version, if you'd like. Excuse how ridiculous I look in this head wreath I made, I thought I'd try to make it work for a second. So every now and then I catch myself chillin' in the "sale" aisle of every online clothing store that exists on the internet. Free People were my choice this month in the the sale department and I found these gems. High waisted, linen, parachute pants. SO comfortable and amazingly huge, it's almost too awesome. So I thank you, Free People, for eating my bank account this month. Much love. <3

new york city {part one}

So far, my adventure to the east coast has been insane, for a lack of better words. Lets just say, traveling with your two sisters and their babies, mom, and a close family friend with her baby has been the most interesting experience I've had by far. I have loved being with my flame-headed nieces and (majority of) my family. First thing, it is absolutely beautiful out here. We are staying at my sister's new home placed in the heart of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. We thought it would be fun to take advantage of how close New York City is to her house, so on to the train we went. I didn't know I could have a rush of so many emotions in such a small amount of time. I guess that's what the "city that never sleeps" does to you. I think my favorite part of New York is the outskirts of where all the busy/insanity lies. We walked through the urban streets that had a really chill, old feeling. I felt like I was on the Cosby Show when I was passing all of the squished together buildings and old parks with the basketball courts closed off with wired fences. Running ten blocks through busy crowds of confused people to make it to our train back to Philly in the nick of time was definitely the cherry on top of our trip to NYC. (like that run-on sentence?) Long story short, New York is almost like a headache on crack, but in a fabulous way and I'd love to visit again. We are now comfortably sitting back in Heather's home in Philly for the next couple days and I can't wait to see what these days have in store for me. Now I'm going to go ice my feet for like a month.

it's that time of year again!

knit cardigan - h&m, dress/slip - free people, pants - bohme, combat boots(old) - nordstrom

AUTUMN. ooooh how i love you.

Anyone could agree with me on this. We all love fall because of the sweaters, layers, scarves, pretty colors, festivities, crisp air, boyfrands and cuddling, happiness, hot chocolate, pumpkin spice, families, pumpkin carvings, warm baking and my favorite... the smells. My nose goes insane for cinnamon/christmas/fall scented ANYTHING. Don't even get me started, y'all. Any who, today I had the pleasure to go up to the Provo canyon with my sister, her husband and my lovely niece for a couple hours and take advantage of Utah in it's prime during the fall season. If only Willie was here to accompany me in enjoying the best time of year!

See y'all never as long as it's this awesome outside!

horses and flowers

horse print button up-f21, floral leggings-modcloth, black shoe-oasap, gold watch-nixon(boyfriend's)

it's been a rough week for ya girl. possibly one of the lowest i've been, ever. i wouldn't say having to say goodbye to someone so dear to you for two years is a normal situation. but enough moping for one day, it's sunday! best day of the week. i'm feelin' all sorts of recharged and my record player hasn't been this busy in awhile. i think it's time to go find some more dusty records out of dad's collection. also, aren't these shoes dope? that gold pointed tip kills me. on the other hand, i'm not feeling very inspired lately, painting related. so for the next few weeks y'all might catch me in the corner drooling over my sketchpad.
